Well, not much is new in our life! But I'll update this thing anyway. :-)
China Days ended up being a little less eventful than we thought. There was a lot less at the school than previous years. Kenzie loved the bouncy house though, and she was the only one in it! Well, Daddy got in, too. :-) They had free cotton candy, snow cones, and popcorn. Kenzie enjoyed a watermelon snow cone, which ended up all down her shirt, but that's okay! The people with the animals never showed up, which we were a little bummed about. I was looking forward to Kenzie seeing them. Oh well, we'll probably make a trip to the zoo with some friends before summer is up anyway.
We didn't stay there long. There was only the bouncy house and two tables. We were the only ones there; me, Gus, Kenzie, and Gus' mom. I felt bad, but from what I hear, more people were there in the morning than later in the day, when we went. Anyway, we left and went to The Landing. We intended on chicken baskets, but none of us were that hungry, so we got ice cream. Well, I did...everyone else got milkshakes. Even Kenzie got her own small one! I didn't wanna do ice cream, in hopes of not making a giant mess. Well, a lot of it still ended up all over her face and shirt, but whatever. She's a kid and I will let her be one. :-) We went for a walk around the block, then Gus dropped Kenzie and I off at home while he brought his mom home. We came home so Kenzie could take a nap, but she decided she didn't need one, which was fine by me, because she very rarely skips her naps! :-p
So, China Days wasn't as eventful as expected, but Kenzie still had a blast that day. I'd like to try the scavenger hunt as a family next year, if Gus had the day off. Sounds like that was fun!
Later in the day today, we went to Oakland to pick up a cozy coupe and a kitchen set from my friend, Brianna. She was selling them for cheap on a for sale group on Facebook, and luckily I was on RIGHT when she posted, so I claimed these first. Kenzie LOVES both. Her hubby was pretty cool; he and Gus had a lot to talk about. They gave us a trike and a little push toy thing too, for free, which was nice of them. I was surprised to see stuff we might be interested in. It makes me literally lol sometimes, the things people sell on these groups. People will try to sell anything and everything! I gave up on the selling, and just hoard it in my shed. ;-) LOL. Well, really, some stuff we're saving for any new babies, other stuff, I really probably should get rid of. Wow, listen to me blabber on about nothing...shut up, Heather.
I was finally able to have a conversation with my best friend, Jaime, the other night. I MISS HER! Sooo much. It's been too long since I've seen her. It was nice to catch up though. I miss having true, always there, never screw you over kind of friends. She and K'mali are the only two that have ever fit that description (well, AND Kendra!). Oh, how I miss K'mali. What is it with me always missing my best friends lately? I feel like I talk about it all the time. Anyway, we're still planning our getaway to Hawaii, and tell ya what, it'll happen even it's not a double honeymoon thing! I think Hawaii with my best friend and our kids sounds amazing anyway. ;-)
Okayyyy, well I guess we're heading to bed now, so goodnight all. :-)
