Get Soaked this Summer in Old Navy Swimwear!

At first, I was a little hesitant when I saw that Crowdtap was taking applications for a new sample share, this time for swim suits. You mean I have to go in there and parade around in a bathing suit? AND I have to find a friend willing to do the same? Yeah, right! The idea of it being awful went away quickly though, which is good, because I got accepted! I was super excited. My boyfriend accidentally threw away a whole bag full of ALL my summer clothes, including all of the many bathing suits I owned, leaving me with none, so you could say this was much needed.

When I found out I was accepted, the first thing I needed to do was find a friend that wanted to go with me. Usually this a pretty simple task, as anyone is excited about free clothes. However, this time was a little harder. I ended up asking two friends who politely declined. I knew some people just wouldn't like the idea of having to take pictures, and in the end, have them shared with people they don't even know. That made me a little nervous, too! I ended up asking my younger sister. She was seven months pregnant at the time, so I wasn't sure whether she'd want to or not, either, but she agreed to go.

I made an event for the sample share, even though there was only the two of us going. I like to get the friends going with me excited about it. On the event page I created, I actually posted some of the same questions that were posted in the discussion portion of the sample share, and had my sister respond to them. So let me share those answers with you now. :) My answers can be found in the discussions.

Check out Old Navy's swimwear collection by clicking the provided link. Do you see any styles that get you dreaming of the beach? Which styles are your favorite and why?
Michelle: All of the swimsuits get me dreaming of the beach! Summer is my favorite season & being on the beach in a bathing suit is one of the best things to do in the summer time. My favorite style is the bandeau tops & the halter tops because they're both cute styles that I would wear. For bottoms I like the string bikini style & the boy short style because they are a cute match for the tops that I like!

What must have qualities do you look for in your bathing suit? Do you like to be bold in bikinis, covered in one pieces, or a combination of both in tankinis?
Michelle: I look for something cute but comfortable at the same time. I'm seven months pregnant, so comfort is really important, and it can also be hard to find something I feel cute in. I usually prefer bikini styles over most anything else.

Which Old Navy swimsuit did you decide to sample?! Was it the color, the pattern, or the style that sold you on bringing your sample home?
Michelle: I went with the mix and match string bikini bottoms, and the animal print twisted bandeau bikini top in leopard print. I chose it because it's just my style. It is probably a little too small for me, but I'm due soon, and figured I'd be better off with something that will fit me after pregnancy, rather than only fit me for the final three months.

Tell us the details! Did you have a fabulous sampling experience? Did you have fun browsing through Old Navy's swimwear collection? What did you think of the selection?
Michelle: We had a lot of fun. It was fun browsing, and we found many things to try on. There were a few things I liked that we couldn't find in my size, but overall, we did great. There are lots of styles and colors to choose from, which was nice.

Anyway, so during the time I was waiting to receive our coupons, I was in town with my daughter and boyfriend. I decided to stop into Old Navy and try a few bathing suits on for the heck of it. I figured I would take some pictures, just so I'd have plenty to share, but I'd wait to make my decision while she was with me. Here are a couple pictures from my first trip in...

When I was accepted, I said I would try on a one piece no matter what. I'm not really a one piece kind of person, but had never seen one ON me, so I wanted to give them a try. This one, I wasn't too fond of. I do like the cut outs in the side, as it doesn't make it look as boring. However, the color (brown, although it looks black in the picture), just doesn't flatter my skin tone whatsoever.
This is another one piece I tried, a ruched swimsuit. Again, the color really does nothing for me, and I just felt kind of awkward in it. I do also like the style of this though, and how it's not just a plain old, boring one piece.
When I looked online before stepping foot into Old Navy, I was really excited about both the ruffle tops and the boy shorts. I'm usually all for the boy shorts, but these didn't flatter me at all. The ruffle top is super cute, but would definitely go better with the matching ruffle bottoms. I'm not as much of a fan of mixing colors as I thought, I guess!
This one was my boyfriends least favorite, haha. I loved the u-ring top, as did he, but neither of us cared for the bottoms.
This picture is just for laughs, but I realized when I got redressed that everything I was wearing was from past Old Navy sample shares! :) Too funny!
When my coupons finally arrived in the mail, I let my sister know, and we set a date to go. She lives an hour away, so we had to find a time that worked for us both.
My mom came along with us, and she took my daughter to Walmart shopping with her while we did our sample share. We brought a cart along with us and filled it with many different styles and colors we wanted to try, and even grabbed a few accessories to go along with it! The selection was great, and I think there was only one thing my sister liked that we couldn't find in her size, so I guess we made out pretty well! Let me share some pictures with you!
Here is my sister, Michelle, checking out the selection.
That's me, looking for the perfect swimsuit. :)
I'm not usually a huge fan of stripes, but this worked for me. This was my favorite one piece out of all that I tried on. The colors definitely work better for me than the black or the brown.
Here's my sister, looking pretty good for seven months pregnant! I loved this one piece on her, it looked really cute with her little baby belly!
I can see why so many people were raving about the tankinis. I was surprised how much I liked this one. I love the color, and love that it provides some cover up, if that's what I prefer. The little ruffles at the top are cute as well.
And here is Michelle in one of the tankinis. I really love these colors!
Black usually isn't my color, but I didn't mind the black string bikini bottoms and black halter top.
This was my top pick for my sister. I absolutely love both the color and style, and it looks really good on her, baby belly and all! She didn't decide on this one though. :P
Just having fun with some of the accessories we grabbed. :)
Love it or not for me?!
Here are our final picks! I went with the u-ring top and bottom in a hot pink, and Michelle went with the mix and match string bikini bottoms, and the leopard print bandeau top. We are both very happy with our choices, and I think we both look super cute in them, too! :)
I saved $29.88...you can't beat that! The lady who cashed us out mentioned that she had just bought the same bikini that I was getting. When I handed her the coupon, she was amazed that I was getting it for free, and asked about Crowdtap and how I was able to get things like that, so of course I shared my experiences with her.
Hmm, where's Michelle?!
I'll end with a picture of my daughter...pooped out from shopping. ;)
