Fitness & fun!

So, first thing this morning, we ended up going to town to pick up a few groceries. Usually when we are only getting a few things, we are pretty quick. I was determined to go as healthy as I could this time though. I have been SAYING I wanted to get in shape and to start eating healthier for a long time now, and I had seriously been lacking motivation. I have seen a few Team Beachbody coaches on Facebook posting their results, healthy meals/snacks, etc. I guess that has motivated me the most, since I've actually made an attempt today.

Anyway, I went with mostly fruit, as well as a lot of whole grain items. I am almost clueless when it comes to eating healthy, but am for now going based on what I read. I am using an app on my phone that tracks the calories I eat in a day. I can even scan the barcode on the item and it will automatically enter info; I just have to enter what I ate for a serving size. I really feel like this helps me try to stick with what the recommended calorie intake for my body type is. Seeing the numbers in front of me is more motivating than just guessing, or having it in my head.

I also downloaded a pedometer on my phone. It tracks how many steps you take, and will tell you the distance you walked. I took a walk with Kenzie and wanted to walk a mile down the road, then return the mile, and that's exactly what we did. We stopped at Dad's on the way back to play and visit.

The healthy eating is the hardest for me (well, along with what I'm going to mention next!!). I need to work on my portioning. I could seriously sit and snack on certain things forever. I just get bored. We also eat out probably two or three times a week, whether it be fast food or take out, and it's disgusting. Well, I take that back, I guess if we're eating a chicken basket every time we do eat out, THAT is disgusting. I've never eaten anything healthy when I went out to eat, haha, so that's something I need to work on. I need to allow myself days where I can have what I want, but do it less often. There are places I eat, such as Pizza Hut, that sound good, but honestly leave me feeling like a big pile of crap! Lol. I do love Pizza Hut, but it's one of those things you have to eat in moderation.
Anyway! I'm still waiting for Josh to burn my Insanity DVD's, but I used the first video online, which is the fitness test. Oh my goddddd. It really IS hard. I thought I was going to die. I was definitely panting, and you could tell it was my first day. You do the workouts he is showing you, and each one you do for one minute. After that, you write down how many reps you did in one minute. You do the fitness test once every two weeks, I believe, and each time you write down how many reps you did, so you can see how you've improved. Some are easier than others, but I won't lie, most are hard. It is a LOT harder than my Jillian Michael's workout, but I'm determined to keep up with it this time. I don't really need to lose weight, but definitely need to get in shape, and would love to tone up. :) I'm nervous for tomorrow, if that was just a fitness test, ha! I decided I should probably take before and after pictures (as seen above), since everyone claims the results are crazy. Plus, I'd like to see how I progress. I will keep this updated on how it's going every so often!
SO! Friday, Chelsey and I went to the Rascal Flatts concert. It was Eden's Edge, Eli Young Band, Little Big Town, and Rascal Flatts. Oh my goodness, it was so much fun! I definitely had a blast. I have never been to a concert, and it was a great first. They definitely put on a great show!! No doubt about it, I'm a country girl, and always have been! :) The other two are in September; best for last - Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan! I might cry during that one, haha. My favorites. We didn't get home til like 1:30, and I didn't fall asleep til 2, so it was definitely a long night, but worth it. SO MUCH FUN.

We are debating OOB tomorrow. I had been thinkinggg it would have been fun to drop into Jaime's work for lunch, and surprise her. I'm talking to her now though, and she's not working. So, I guess the better plan would be to get together for the day. Hopefully she can find a ride out. It is ridiculous how much I miss her! We will probably mostly just walk around the shops and what not, but I do want to bring Kenzie out on the beach.

I'm super tired tonight, so gonna wrap things up and try to get to bed early. Goodnight! :)
