Here we were, five years ago! Crazy to think that it's been so long already! And we are finally engaged! We went to The Landing yesterday, and Gus ordered my food, but didn't get himself anything. I was a little annoyed, because I hate going places to eat and being the only one to eat. Kenzie helped me though :) Anyway, after, we went for a walk. We walked past the church all the way up to where China General was. I never realized how many memories I have between The Landing and the store. I was pointing places out to Gus; the church where we went to Sunday School, the Neck Road which is where I grew up, the house we stayed at during the ice storm, our old house a couple houses from that, the library where we'd go for story hour, where the movie store used to be, the Boyle's house, and of course, China General. Like I said, a lot of good memories along such a small area. On the way back, ironically enough, I was talking about weddings. We've discussed weddings before, and I was saying how I think I now want a Fall wedding, instead of Summer. I was saying how pictures look better in less harsh sunlight, so maybe Fall would be easier, plus Fall is so pretty! I was probably mid-sentence when he asked me. I know he felt so awkward, probably because of nerves and not really knowing what he was going to say. I knew he was going to ask at some point, since we had the ring, but didn't know when. It's funny to think we're engaged now though. I'm happy, and excited to plan our wedding. On to yet another chapter of our lives <3
Anyway, I was thinking last night about bridesmaids, and I love that I can name off who I want in my wedding without even putting much thought into it. I have a list of girls who, since I met each one, have remained 100% true. Those are the people I want to have there beside me. The only problem is, there are seven girls on that list. Haha. I am having the hardest time deciding if that's too many. I really think it's up to every person what they do, and if you want one, three, seven...whatever! Do as you wish, it's YOUR wedding! I also would have a hard time cutting that list down if it WERE too many! I'm going to let my girls know sometime within the next couple months, but first I want to make sure Gus will be able to come up with seven of his friends for the grooms party. We plan to stay engaged for a couple years, so we have plenty of time to plan, but I am at least excited to let my girls know :)
Okay, on a different topic...we had Makenzie's 15 month appointment today (although she's 15 1/2 months). She is just over 17 lbs, and 31 inches. Definitely still a peanut. The doctor said even if she ate a lot more than what she does, she would likely still be a peanut; it's just how she's built. She has gotten a little better with food, but is still very adamant about breastfeeding. I will say that she's getting slightly better with that too, though. I think we might spend more time outside or at mom's here soon, just so her mind is off of it. We could even eat outside when it's a little warmer. She usually wants to do nothing but play when she's outside, so I think breastfeeding would be the farthest thing from her mind. It will be nice to have my freedom back once she's done, as much as I do love BF. We made it for such a long length of time, and I'm proud of that! The doctor said she is doing great development wise, and that's she's ahead on pretty much everything, which I knew :) She's a smart cookie for sure! She had two shots, and she definitely didn't like that! She actually started crying when I tried to sit her on the table for the M.A. I really think she now knows what the doctors office is, but also knows who strangers are. It's funny, because that woman has given her shots before, and she seemed to be a lot more upset around her than the actual doctor, haha. She threw a fit when we got home, but I think that was a mix of the shots and being tired, so I got her down for a nap, which is where she is now. She will be back to her happy self later :)
We are going to the park in Unity tomorrow. I love the park there. It's pretty big and has a lot of room to walk around too. Kenzie will have fun there. Hopefully the weather is somewhat nice. I might even bring my camera and take some pictures :)
Oh, I almost forgot. Easter went well! Kenzie had so much fun searching for eggs this year! She did pretty good! And she loved waking up to her Easter basket. She got lots of goodies. She enjoyed the ham at dad's, and she didn't care much for the egg hunt there, because she's obsessed with their dogs! She loves dogs! Daddy picked us up after he got out of work and we hung out with him for the rest of the night. I brought Kenzie next door for a little bit when Michelle dropped mom off, and she got an Easter basket from her too, with some clothes and some fun stuff in it. She definitely got plenty of Easter goodies; that was her fourth basket! I'll end with a picture of her in her Easter dress. She looked so pretty :)
